Coach Dominic Gaglia begins his 3rd year as Head Basketball Coach at LBHC. Hired only 4 days before the 2007-2008 season, Coach G brings 30+ years experience and a record of success in building teams quickly to Rams Basketball.
And the quick building process has begun at LBHC. In 2008-09, despite loss of seven signed players due to medical and visa issues, and only 7 home games, Coach G's first recruiting class recorded a SCHOOL RECORD with total(10). In the process, the Rams were among Region IX leaders in several team and individual categories and take great pride in having the FIRST EVER player selections to All-Region Team and All Academic All-Region Team(see below).
Optimism reins for 2009-2010 as Coach G's relentless pursuit to build success for Rams Basketball has brought recruits from the Bahamas, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, and Wyoming along with the best local players willing the meet the requirements and expectations in the classroom and on the court to satisfy NJCAA standards and the demanding competition in Region IX.
Coach G's accomplishments at the high school level include tripling the win totals from the previous year with his first 3 high school teams at Hays-Lodge Pole, girls (12) and boys(15), and Flaxville, girls (15), and winning the FIRST EVER Divisional Championship with a 4th Place State finish at Absarokee in only his 2nd year.
From there, Coach G joined the college ranks at Rocky Mountain College and served as Assistant Women’s Coach and later as Executive Director of the RMC Athletic Association for a total of 5 years. Again, in only his second year he helped lead the Lady Bears to a school record in wins (21) and FIRST EVER national ranking.
In addition to his High School and College contributions, Coach G served with Basketball Congress International (BCI) as Director / Coach of Montana BCI for 20 years. Named to the BCI Board of Directors in 1992, his was the only program nationwide serving both girls and boys and providing teams to each BCI age tournament. Coach G also served briefly with the All-American Professional Basketball League.
